The LEED Platinum certification is the result of a long-term sustainability plan that carefully integrates various ecological practices. Key features that make Mall of Split a sustainable center include:

 

1. Sustainable Mobility
   Mall of Split offers easy access by public transport and provides eight charging stations for electric vehicles as well as designated bicycle parking spaces, encouraging visitors to choose eco-friendly modes of transport.
2. Water Conservation
   To reduce water consumption, the center collects rainwater, which is used for toilet flushing and irrigation of outdoor greenery, significantly minimizing environmental impact.
3. Energy Efficiency
   The building is designed to maximize the use of natural daylight through large glass surfaces and skylights. The entire center is illuminated with low-energy LED lighting, including the building’s façade, further reducing its energy footprint.
4. Green Infrastructure and Amenities
   Mall of Split features several eco-oriented facilities:

 

• Electric vehicle charging stations – available on levels -2 (Petrol) and +3 (Electrip).
• Clothing and footwear recycling container – located in the center’s garage (level -1), where used items are collected, repurchased, and recycled, reducing textile waste.
• Pet-friendly concept – the center welcomes pets, and ZOO Mall offers a full range of pet services, including grooming, washing, and care.

 

5. Eko Pazarić – Local and Organic Products
   Every weekend, the ground floor of the center hosts Eko Pazarić, a local eco-market where certified local producers offer fresh, organically grown products. Visitors can even pre-order eco baskets with selected items, ready for pickup at the market.
